As every year for the last 11 editions, the "Tapeix a Santa Pola" returns, a tapas competition organized by the Santa Pola City Council in collaboration with the Santa Pola Fishermen's Guild, to promote the "Peix de Santa Pola", a quality label that identifies the fish landed by the sailors in the port every day.
The contest has already started and will be held until March 18th. The price of each tapa will be two euros. This year, the Guild has also taken charge of the initial supply of the Peix de Santa Pola so that the tapas are made with authentic fish from the bay. There are 11 restaurants participating in the Tapeix, and each of them presents a tapa based on sea bass and another tapa based on gatet, typical products of Santa Pola that can be acquired daily in the Peixatería of the Fishermen's Guild.
In addition to these two fish tapas, you will be able to taste a third tapa that some of the establishments have prepared with all the care and good work that characterises them.
The participating restaurants will display a certificate of the Peix de Santa Pola on their doorsteps, together with the Tapeix logo.
