The origins of l'Alfás del Pi go hand in hand with agriculture and water. His own name, which comes from Arabic means "fertile land". In its day it was a small town that went, from having 250 neighbours to more than 21,000 inhabitants today. We speak of a Alicante town on the Costa Blanca famous for the tourism it receives from all over the world. More than 90 nationalities coexist in this place and even so, its urban center preserves the essence of a small Mediterranean town with an economy centered on agriculture.
The weather forecast Alfás del Pi is always pretty much the same. It has a warm semi-arid climate, with mild temperatures throughout the year and unusual rain, concentrated in the winter periods. The average annual temperature is always above 19°C.
As a star dish we must mention rice, a basic product of Mediterranean cuisine. Prepared in many ways with different foods supposes the main food of the people of the field.
L'Alfás del Pi every week has two markets with basic products from the area, as well as clothing and accessories.
During the days of November there are the main fiestas of l'Alfás where a great variety of events take place, with the participation of all the Alfasinians and their visitors. The festival of LA CREUETA that takes place on the first weekend of May, where the “Cruz del término” located in its urban area is covered with flowers, and through several celebrations they welcome the spring. The last weekend of August, the parties of l'Albir are celebrated, to say goodbye to the summer in a fun and popular way. Finally, in December, the Fiestas de la Purísima are celebrated to honor the “Inmaculada Concepcion”.
The fantastic beach of Albir, formed by rounded rocks, has a beautiful location. Next to a promenade full of terraces where you can rest and eat something. With two beautiful routes for trekking towards the 2 ends of the beach. We will also find here a library on the beach where we can read the newspapers, a book or magazine, while we protect ourselves from the sun.
