The project and installation of the signalling, communications and energy systems for the Calp-Denía section of line 9 of the TRAM d'Alacant has begun.
The amount of these actions amounts to 1,637,120.01 euros, VAT included, informed the Generalitat in a press release.
The planned work is part of the various actions being carried out by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) on the line between Benidorm and Denia and aims to maintain and improve operating conditions.
Among the actions already underway or in the administrative process and those planned for the coming years, the investment of the Generalitat on line 9 of the TRAM d'Alacant amounts to more than 130 million euros.
The installation of the signalling, communications and energy systems is scheduled to begin once the track renovation work on the Teulada-Dénia section is completed.
The project includes the commissioning of the electronic enclaves and automatic locks on this section, as well as the connection with the Centralised Traffic Centre of La Marina in Alicante.
In addition, to improve passenger service, the installation of remote indicators and a new public address system is planned for all stations and stops between Benidorm and Denia, which will be completed with a video surveillance system, as is the case with the rest of the lines in service on the Alicante TRAM.
