International cycling teams in Calpe

The climate and the hotel offer make the town the preferred destination for cycling. These days in Calpe, there are a total of 9 international cycling teams preparing for the big events of the season. Many of them are part of the top category of world cycling that compete in the main cycling races around the world, the UCI World Team.
In recent years Calpe has become the destination of choice for top-level cycling teams to carry out their preparations during the winter months. This is due to its favourable weather conditions, and its surroundings with mountain passes such as Coll de Rates or Aitana, as well as the wide range of hotels in the town, which have specialised attention to cater for this type of sportsperson. In fact, the hotels have spaces to store bicycles, mechanical assistance services and a buffet designed for cyclists, among others.
