Benissa is a beautiful town on the Costa Blanca, located northeast of the Province of Alicante that has beautiful coves surrounded by an ecological path. Benissa, which belongs to the district of Marina Alta, is 70 kilometers north of Alicante and 120 kilometers south of Valencia. Perfectly communicated with both capitals through the AP-7 highway.

The Town has a wonderful coast with escarpments, cliffs and small coves invaded by pine trees.

Things to do in Benissa.

Benissa has one of the larger territories of the Marina Alta with an orography and a biodiversity that is really worth knowing. A total of 7 different routes through the interior allow us to enjoy the nature around, taking advantage of your excellent weather. One of the most recommended activities to do here is walking the ecological path. For sure, one of the best trips you can make along the coast of Benissa. This journey starts in El Aula Del Mar and has 2 ways: North and South.  Along the way you will find several boards explaining the local culture, historical issues and wildlife. The coast of Benissa, with clean waters and little deep coves, are perfect for free diving, snorkeling. This is a fun, easy, cheap and optimal activity to know the interesting seabed of Benissa and its extensive underwater meadows of posidonia.

What to see in Benissa.

Beaches of Benissa

The costa of Benissa is 4 km long and its made of gravel stone and sand.

  • Many bays and coves are suitable for diving and sailing. 
  • In the rich biomarine heritage of Benissa you will find many different fish species including octopus, cuttlefish and starfish.
  • The most popular beach is La Fustera. It is a fine natural sand beach dominated by majestic meadows of posidonia. In this beach you will find all the services that a user can demand.

Fiestas in Benissa

The fiestas are celebrated on the fourth Sunday of April. Highlighting the following acts: The act of Coronation of the Queen of the Holidays, mixed up with different activities such as bulls, musical performances and fireworks. The fair in honor of San Antonio, declared of local tourist interest. This fair has been the commercial center of the region for many years. Fair attractions, livestock fairs, medieval market and a great diversity of cultural and sport activities come together during two weeks of fair. And the traditional fiestas of Moors and Christians, in honor of San Pedro, celebrated the closest weekend to June 29. Spectacular parades with incredible costumes and embassies that venerate the old battles, are some of the acts that we can enjoy during these days.
